The Gallery offers a variety of special events that are planned with
people of different ages, interests and backgrounds in mind, and all events
are offered free of charge.
- Opening receptions are social events that celebrate the works
on display and often include an opportunity to meet the artist(s)
or participate in a guided
tour with the exhibition's curator.
- Our Critics Series and scholarly
lecturers are scheduled for those with an interest in critical
issues in the arts. Panel discussions are also arranged periodically,
with interesting panelists who tackle ideas that arise out of
the current exhibition.
- Artist’s presentations and curator’s talks are designed
for a broader public audience, and give the artist an important
voice in the interpretation of their own works.
- Our popular Wednesday film series
is presented during term-time.
- Guided tours,
educational and special project ideas are provided for visiting
school and community groups.
The Gallery is an engaging, lively place where all
the arts can meet. Arts groups book the Gallery in the
evening for poetry readings, musical or literary presentations,
or simply as a venue for their meetings.

Winter Film Program
This
year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens.
As part of the international celebrations, we are presenting
a series of film
adaptations that
span from the 1930s to the new millenium.
We are also pleased to present four groundbreaking
films from the 1960s that star the renowned African American actor
Sidney Poitier
as part of Black History Month.
