Guided Tours and Class Visits

At the Dalhousie Art Gallery we seek to engage and challenge visitors with an exciting range of contemporary and historical works of art. Our staff comprises artists, curators and educators eager to facilitate first-hand experience and discussion.

Free guided tours are offered to schools and community groups of all ages. The Gallery is open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Friday and noon to 5 pm on weekends, but we are flexible, and we may also be able to accommodate groups outside of our regular opening hours. We recommend booking a tour at least one week in advance.

The gallery's permanent collection is a resource that we share with the entire community. In addition to our guided tours of exhibitions, with advance notice gallery staff can arrange special presentations of works from our permanent collection, such as our artist book or print collections, to classes or study groups.

To arrange a tour or a class visit, contact the gallery at (902) 494-2195, or email us at art.gallery@dal.ca.
